Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Operations Manager to join our team in Grannagh, Co. Waterford.
The successful candidate will support the site business through the management of an efficient and effective engineering function. This involves implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) determined at site level with regards to planned and preventative maintenance, reaction time to breakdowns, and cost control.
The role includes:
* Cascade and deliver key business objectives and performance targets determined both at Group and site level for the Maintenance Department.
* Monitor and control maintenance costs, obtaining necessary authorization in line with Group policies and procedures.
* Provide leadership to the site engineering team, coaching engineers during breakdowns and overseeing time-critical repairs.
* Manage and direct the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance team, including determining needed repairs and improvements, establishing project priorities, and assigning work tasks.
* Plan scheduled work and respond accordingly to unforeseen work activity, ensuring the competence of the engineering team to meet these requirements.
* Best utilize internal and external 3rd party resources to deal appropriately with situations that occur on site, depending on capability, specialism, and skill set.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
* 5+ years recent experience within a similar role in a Maintenance or Engineering environment, preferably within a food manufacturing industry.
* A Time-served or third-level qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
* Previous experience of managing a large engineering team.
* Recent experience of delivering large projects in a complex industrial and technical environment, with a working knowledge of project management techniques.
* Excellent communication skills, accompanied by leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Strong people management skills, with the ability to build, mentor, and motivate.
* Highly motivated and proactive, with the ability to multitask.
* IT literate.
