Business Development Manager – Foodservice
We have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our Foodservice team.
This role will cover Kildare, surrounding counties and other areas as required.
Please note this is a 12 month contract
Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to develop a defined territory as outlined by the Regional Sales Manager, with total responsibility for sales, debt, margin and profit.
You will deliver and exceed agreed regional and territory sales, profit and margin targets across the (delivered, collect and online) Foodservice business.
Responsibilities
Develop the territory by managing a prospect list to secure new customers
Drive growth through expanding the range that is currently being supplied to existing accounts
Maintain all accounts within Musgrave MarketPlace agreed credit terms
Manage all customer contracts within the territory, including managing pricing and range to maximise profitability
Maintain Territory Management costs within allocated budgets, through good time management, resources management, and the most effective call pattern for each customer
Ensure excellent customer service through friendly, accurate field communication and good administration practices
Provide accurate and relevant information on competitor activity and other trade field information to the Regional Sales Manager
Ensure the correct product mix in each account thus ensuring maximum profitability
Ensure full co-operation via the Territory Telesales Developer, Regional General Managers, Regional Foodservice Floor Managers etc. to ensure maximum growth in your specific territory
Complete all administration as required including Journey plans, Daily Sales Reports, Record Cards and Prospect lists
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following:
2-3 year's experience/ knowledge in food industry or in direct foodservice sales (competitors/ range/ customers)
3rd level – Business Related Degree
Proven track record in proactive field sales and achieved targets
Good understanding of the foodservice customer
Proven track record of networking within the sales community
Knowledge of product margins and reporting
Direct selling skills in a professional manner
Customer focused with customer service skills
Strong level of commercial awareness
Administration skills, planning and time management skills
Forwarding thinking with the ability to work on own initiative
Ability to change, adapt and be flexible
Full clean driving licence
