Electrical Tester Role
The Electrical Tester is a critical position in our team, responsible for ensuring the integrity of electrical systems. This role involves inspecting and testing electrical equipment to guarantee compliance with specifications, regulations, and standards.
* Inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, and standards.
* Keep accurate records and compile inspection and test reports for issue to site management.
* Review and compile test documents from specialist suppliers and subcontractors for inclusion in O&M and BCAR handover documentation.
* Provide guidance on non-compliant installations.
* Inspect wiring and terminations for quality and compliance.
* Develop recommendations for improvement.
* Maintain calibration certificates for test instruments and assist in maintaining the test instrument register.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform electrical installation work as required by the Project Manager or Site Supervisor, including low and extra-low voltage systems, containment, cabling, wiring, final fixing, glanding, and terminating.
2. Ensure all electrical work is performed to the highest standard, meeting regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
* Minimum two years' experience in a similar position.
* National Craft Certificate.
* Qualified Certifier through a CRU accredited provider.
* Current Safe Pass Certificate.
* Current Manual Handling Certificate.
* Current Abrasive Wheels Certificate (optional but preferred).
* Thorough knowledge of company electrical test instruments.
* Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
* Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
* Skill in installing all types of electrical system equipment and components.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Proficient in MS Packages, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
This role requires a high degree of technical competence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
