As a Chef with the Naval Service, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering nutritious meals to sustain morale and wellbeing under challenging conditions.
About the Role:
* Food Planning and Preparation: Develop and execute menus that meet nutritional standards and cater to diverse tastes.
* Teamwork and Leadership: Collaborate with fellow chefs to maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and efficiency.
* Menu Planning and Stock Control: Assist in menu planning, stock management, and provisioning for operations of varying duration.
* Mentoring and Supervision: Support the training and development of junior and trainee chefs.
* Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response situations, including fire-fighting and damage control exercises as part of the ship's wider crew duties.
Requirements:
* Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland
* Character & Fitness: Meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards
* Age: 18–39 years on the date of application
* Qualifications: FETAC Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent national qualification
Recruitment Process:
Includes a fitness test, competency-based interview, medical exam, and Garda vetting.
