We have a great opportunity for a Laboratory Technician at our Kerry site in Charleville, Co. Cork.
This is a full-time, seasonal role.
Hours of work involve a 3-cycle shift pattern: 0800 - 1600 / 1600 - 1200 / 1200 - 0800, with a shift allowance of 25%. The hours may change in summer to 12-hour shifts working 4 on 4 off (2 days and 2 nights).
The Kerry Ingredients site in Charleville employs around 140 staff and produces products such as skim milk powder for the infant and nutritional sectors, functional dairy ingredients for the confectionery industry, and cheese powders for the savory snack market. The site offers a canteen and onsite parking, located on Kilmallock Road (R515), about 15 minutes' walk from the town center.
The Laboratory Technician will be based in our Powder Lab within Milk Intake, responsible for testing and analyzing product samples to ensure quality standards. Experience as a Lab Assistant, Lab Analyst, Quality Technician, or QC Technician is advantageous.
Responsibilities include:
* Analyzing raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples (whey, skim, milk powder, etc.) in the laboratory.
* Conducting all laboratory activities in line with GLP and in-house standards.
* Ensuring compliance with GLP/GMP and safety requirements.
* Maintaining adequate stock of consumables.
* Recording data, results, and keeping records up to date.
* Performing instrument calibration and maintenance (LECO).
* Participating in proficiency testing and audits.
* Maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
* Supporting site audits as needed.
* Performing other duties as required.
Requirements for success:
* Chemistry/Analytical Lab experience is desirable but not essential.
* Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and SAP.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Attention to detail and compliance in quality control.
* Ability to multitask and handle external interactions such as audits.
