The role
Management Accountant – 12 month Fixed Term Contract
The management accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager within the Global Sourcing division of Uniphar Pharma, plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of a key project. This position provides dedicated financial support, collaborates on robust financial analysis, and ensures accurate financial reporting for a fixed‑term 12 month contract.
The Role
The role involves supporting the finance & project teams in managing financial reporting during dual running of legacy and new ERP systems, preparing and reviewing accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance analysis, ensuring the consistency of financial data across multiple systems, and participating in process improvements and internal control assessments.
Key Outcomes
Support the finance & project team in managing financial reporting during dual running of legacy and new ERP systems
Prepare and review accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance analyses for the business unit
Perform reconciliations across multiple systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between financial reports, liaising with finance, project & IT teams as necessary
Validate financial data during system migration
Partner with cross‑functional project teams to provide financial insight and support operational decision‑making
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and internal controls
Assist with month‑end close activities, ensuring compliance with group reporting deadlines and accuracy in reporting and variance analysis
Liaise with Group & Intercompany finance teams as necessary
Participate in regular team and group meetings
Key Skills & Experiences
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) – fully qualified or finalist preferred
Strong systems orientation; ability to work across multiple financial systems and maintain data integrity; experience with ERP systems such as SAP an advantage
Analytical skills to identify discrepancies, reconcile data, and ensure accuracy across dual reporting environments
Attention to detail and high standards of accuracy when working with large volumes of data across systems
Experience working with multi‑functional disciplines including non‑financial managers
Critical thinking to resolve problems and proactively investigate variances and implement effective reconciliation solutions
Proven time management and prioritisation skills focusing on urgent and overlapping deadlines
Ability to work effectively under time and delivery pressures
High proficiency in Excel
Professional level written and oral communication skills
Resilience, flexibility, and adaptability

As a global team, there is flexibility to be based in one of Uniphar’s offices or work from home. The role may require occasional face‑to‑face meetings in other locations and contacting colleagues in different time zones, but is not a strict 9‑to‑5.
