It recognises the changes in the treatment of conditions in animals and the need for correct use, for example, of antibiotics and anti-parasitics and the drive to develop and offer other options to the veterinary profession and the animal owner & keeper.
The Head of Non-Medicianls role is being created to establish FORTE as a leader in the development, positioning and early mover status in the space of products which are Non-Medicinal but with proven efficacy.
This position is to lead and grow the company’s non-medicinal portfolio with a strong focus on product efficacy, measurable performance outcomes, and successful treatment impact. Working with colleagues, the role owns category strategy, existing product positioning, new product sourcing, development and partner collaborations, and route-to-market positioning across domestic and export markets, the latter being a strategic growth priority.

Key Responsibilities
Full ownership of the non-medicinal portfolio, with accountability for strategy, product- development, positioning and portfolio balance and opportunity
Manage and optimise existing products, ensuring clear, data-backed performance claims and alignment with customer expectations in a pharma-led environment
Source, evaluate, and develop new products with a strong emphasis on efficacy and return on investment
Build robust technical business cases supported by trials, field data, or validated third-party evidence
Collaborate on export market development, identifying priority geographies, partners, and routes to market
Own route-to-market and distribution channel strategy, including partner management and sales enablement with commercial colleagues
Work cross-functionally with our regulatory, marketing, technical, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure successful product development, training, positioning, launches and lifecycle management.
Provide technical support to both internal teams and customers.
Key Skills & Experience
Significant commercial experience (8+ years) within the animal health, animal pharma, feed or adjacent life sciences sector (sector experience is essential)
Proven track record managing and growing product portfolios where product efficacy, performance data and patient outcomes are critical
Strong understanding of non-medicinal solutions and their role in the treatment of patients
Experience operating in export markets, including distributor-led models and international regulations
Ability to translate scientific and technical data into compelling patient value propositions
Understand current legislation governing non-medicinal products to include labelling and promotion
Hands-on, patient-driven leader comfortable operating in a dynamic, opportunistic SME environment

Education
Degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agriculture, Nutrition or related discipline
Commercial or business qualifications, strongly preferred
