Role Overview The Quality Assurance Officer will play a key role in supporting the organisation's Quality, Safety, and Practice Development function, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care across Lotus Care Services.
Working closely with the Director of Quality Assurance, Senior Services Managers, and Persons in Charge, the successful candidate will contribute to embedding best practice, strengthening regulatory compliance, and driving continuous quality improvement in line with the Health Act ****, HIQA standards, and the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act ****.
This role involves supporting quality assurance systems, contributing to safeguarding and risk management initiatives, assisting with policy development, and promoting a culture of learning and accountability across services.

Location: Kildare / Offaly / Hybrid Reporting to: Director of Quality Assurance Key Responsibilities Conduct service audits, reviews, and follow-up on action plans to ensure continuous improvement.
Support the maintenance of accurate records relating to quality, safety, and compliance activities.
Assist in the development, review, and implementation of organisational policies and procedures.
Contribute to internal reporting processes by gathering data and preparing reports for senior management.
Provide administrative and coordination support to governance, quality, risk and safeguarding/ child protection meetings.
Promote and support person-centred practices, including the collection and review of feedback from service users, families, and staff.
Maintain and update incident, safeguarding/ child protection, risk, and compliance registers, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are tracked.
Support the coordination of training activities, including identifying gaps, scheduling sessions, and monitoring completion rates.
Undertake on-site visits to monitor practice and identify areas for development and improvement.
Engage with staff to support understanding and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practice standards.
Promote awareness of safeguarding, human rights, risk mitigation and safe working practices across all services.
Attend and document quality, governance, and learning forum meetings as required.
Candidate Requirements Essential: Relevant experience in social care, healthcare, or disability services.
Working knowledge of the Health Act ****, associated HIQA standards, and person-centred models of care.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
High level of attention to detail and strong IT proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc).
Full clean driver's licence and willingness to travel.
A relevant QQI Level 7 or Level 8 qualification (e.g. Social Care, Nursing, Health Services Management, or similar).
Desirable: Experience in quality assurance, auditing, and compliance systems in a Health and Social Care context.
Training qualification in QQI instruction or facilitation.
Familiarity with quality improvement frameworks and systems in a Health Social Care context.
Awareness of the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act **** within a social care context.
