Team Horizon is seeking a Process Scientist for our client in Sligo
This position is on 12-month fixed term basis. You will be part of a pilot plant project team, providing technical support and program management to all relevant functional departments and NPI’s throughout the site. Your technical support will apply to all manufacturing operations from a chemistry perspective and will develop new and innovative processes to deliver cost reductions.

What you will be doing:
* Executing process development on existing and new late-stage clinical products, including scale-up to plant equipment.
* Providing on-the-floor technical support to Production Team Leaders for process/equipment optimization and troubleshooting.
* Supporting manufacturing and chemistry-related issues, including troubleshooting, optimization, cost reduction, and training.
* Planning and leading technical transfers for future product introductions.
* Identifying and developing laboratory continuous improvement projects.
* Collaborating with process engineers and other departments to deliver these projects.
* Optimizing processes and equipment to improve process chemistry, cleaning, quality, yields, and throughput.
* Recommending and implementing measures to enhance production systems, equipment performance, efficiency, and product quality.
* Supporting process front runs and use tests for NPIs and commercial processes.
* Developing process control recipes for NPIs and optimizing existing commercial recipes.
* Providing engineering support for manufacturing and digital control system issues.
* Supporting commissioning and validation activities during project start-up.
* Updating batch and cleaning documentation for NPIs.
* Preparing feasibility studies and operating budgets for future products.
* Leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce departmental costs.
* Training manufacturing personnel on technical and chemistry aspects of operations.
* Maintaining contact with other departmental leaders to ensure effective site operations.
* Adhering to EHS&E standards, procedures, and policies.
What you need to apply:
* A relevant third-level degree or higher in chemical engineering, process engineering, or related technical discipline.
* At least 2 years’ experience in process engineering in manufacturing or 3 years in process chemistry with batch processing, automation, transfers, scale-up, commissioning, and validation in a cGMP pharmaceutical environment.
* Experience with start-ups and/or new product introductions in pharmaceutical facilities is desirable.
* Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
* Strong project management skills, capable of delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
