Job Summary
KEPAK is recruiting Meat Processing Operatives at several locations across Ireland. The role requires working within the operations team in the factory to perform production, storage, cleaning, health & safety and other tasks as directed by management. Operatives will be tasked with meeting challenging production targets and may work extended periods in cold/chilled areas.
Key Responsibilities
* Work in the production area performing a wide variety of tasks, including line operation, packing, cleaning and distribution.
* Lift weights of at least 15 kg, stand for over 4 hours and move freely around the factory floor.
* Work for extended periods in a cold environment.
* Familiarise with the daily production plan and collaborate with the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensure materials are ready.
* Perform all pre‑start, hygiene and safety checks as directed.
* Report breakages, damages or defaults of equipment to the Line Supervisor and ensure machinery is only operated when safe.
* Record checks as directed and maintain accurate logs.
* Ensure product quality and immediately report any issues to the Line Supervisor.
* Participate fully in Lean Manufacturing processes and embrace new methods of working.
* Co‑operate with all company training and ask questions to ensure understanding of all aspects of the role.
* Report any accidents or near‑misses and assist with investigations as required by the safety policy.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Minimum experience required: 0 years.
* In good physical health capable of performing the duties described.
* No negative criminal record; good character.
* Successful completion of satisfactory confidential reference checks.
Desirable
* Previous production or manufacturing experience.
* Ability skills: Communication, Manual.
* Competency skills: Initiative, Teamwork, Time Management, Working on own initiative.
