Role Overview Ger TEK is seeking a Site-Based Commissioning Engineer to join our Data Centre Services division.
This role is designed for a mechanical or electrical engineering professional who thrives in high-spec, controlled environments.
You will be responsible for bridging the gap between mechanical installation and operational reality, ensuring all utility and MEP systems meet rigorous quality and safety standards.
Your Responsibilities System Verification: Lead mechanical and utility system walkdowns to verify installations against P&IDs and design specifications.
Witnessing & Testing: Witness and sign off on contractor pressure tests, leak tests, flushing, and pump testing.
L1-L4 Execution: Execute Level 4 functional performance testing (FPT) and commissioning activities according to approved site procedures.
Issue Management: Proactively identify site defects and manage the "Punch List" process to ensure all issues are tracked and resolved by contractors.
Automation & Controls: Work closely with BMS and FMS teams to witness functional testing of control sequences and alarms.
Documentation Control: Review and approve contractor test documentation and QA/QC packs to ensure a seamless project handover.
Safety & Compliance: Operate within strict Permit to Work (PTW) systems and adhere to all site-specific safety and quality protocols.
Requirements Education: BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering (Level 8) or a related discipline.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in commissioning, testing, or system verification within data centres or semiconductor facilities.
Technical Skills: * Proficiency in reading P&IDs and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework, pumps, and pressure systems.
Experience with QA/QC inspections and procedure-based testing.
Software: Exposure to BIM360, Cx tools, or similar digital documentation platforms.
Soft Skills: Proven ability to supervise site workflows and coordinate with diverse contractor teams.
