About usMidland Healthcare is a new and exciting social care provider established in 2025. We recognise the gap in respite provision for many individuals and their families and aim to deliver high quality respite breaks outside of the traditional centre-based model for people who use our service.We welcome you to join us and be part of the journey together as we look to enhance the lives of the many individuals we support. We are currently looking to recruit highly motivated and passionate people to our relief panel who may be looking for weekend and evening work.We welcome applications from qualified Social Care Workers and Support Workers to join our Alternative Respite Team, which provides breaks to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.The ideal candidate will be involved in this exciting new development of our Alternative Respite service. Your role will be to support individuals to have meaningful respite breaks and play a role in developing the lives of Children and Adults who use Midland Healthcare service's. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to think outside the box to encourage and support individuals to reach their full potential. This role is community based and will require overnights and weekend work.Duties· Work as part of a team to organise and plan meaningful day and overnight respite to children and adults who will avail of the service.· Play an integral role in the development, implementation and evaluation of Individual Support Plans· Develop relationships with families of people who use the service.· Promote inclusion and provide an encouraging person-centred environment for Children and Adults with Disabilities· Maintain effective communication with the team, families and the individual's support network· Support individuals in all aspects of their daily lives, including personal care, health, behaviours, education, etc· Maintain all necessary records.Requirements· Support Workers - Minimum Qualification: QQI Level 5 Intellectual Disability Practice / Social Care / Community Support Worker Programme - (at least 3 modules completed but must include Intellectual Disability)· Social Care Workers - Minimum Qualification: Level 7 Social Care Degree or equivalent AND must provide proof of current CORU registration.· Essential - A full, clean, manual driving licence and access to your own vehicle· Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship· An understanding of: Person Centred Planning, Advocacy, Children's First, Safeguarding & Risk Management· Experience supporting people with challenging behaviours and the use of positive behaviour support plans· Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, organisational & initiative skills· The ability to build trusting and respectful relationships· Previous experience working with children is an advantage· Garda Vetting/Police clearance.Benefits· Competitive salary and premium payments for unsocial hours.· Full induction training.· Ongoing mentoring and support.· Flexible hours and shifts.· Be part of a new and exciting social care service.How to apply?· For more information or to apply please send an up to date CV to Job Type: Part-timePay: €15.00-€25.00 per hourWork Location: In person
