We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Financial Accountant to join our high performing team.
REPORTING TO: Financial Controller
LOCATION: Based in Newry, Co. Down
CONTRACT TYPE: FULL-TIME, PERMANENT
HOURS: Monday – Friday 40 hours per week with early finish on Fridays
Role Responsibilities
1. Lead the preparation of monthly and annual accounts, accruals and prepayments, journal entries & month end reconciliations.
2. Consolidate financial reports from various departments and group entities.
3. Analyse and comment on financial performance, including variance analysis and KPIs.
4. Ensure compliance by preparing and submitting VAT and RCT returns.
5. Support budgeting and forecasting with financial analysis and insights.
6. Lead year-end audits, collaborating with auditors and providing necessary documentation.
7. Create and apply financial reporting policies and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
8. Mentor and develop junior finance team members.
9. Identify and drive process improvements using technology and best practices.
10. Perform other duties as required.
The Candidate
Qualifications & Experience:
1. A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is required.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial reporting or senior accounting role.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
4. Experience using ERP’s and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
