Post Summary: Trinity College Dublin is Irelands premier University with a long and impressive history in Academic teaching and research.
There are three Faculties, twenty-four Schools, five Research Institutes, fifty-one Trinity Research Centres, five multi-disciplinary Teaching Units and sixty Service Areas.
The Secretary to the College is the statutory legal Officer of the College and the legal function within this office is headed up by the College Solicitor.
This post holder will be based in the Secretarys Office and report directly to the College Solicitor.
This role will provide professional expert legal advice to all areas of the College across a wide portfolio of general legal matters including Administrative law, Contract Law, compliance and regulatory matters particular to the University sector.
This role will also have particular focus of Equality law and in supporting the implementation of the sectoral Consent framework in Higher Education.
Post status: Fixed-Term Contract (3 Years) The duration of this contract is limited to the above fixed-term period as the role has been established to provide interim legal capacity in response to the increasing volume and complexity of employment, equality and Dignity, Respect and Consent investigations within Trinity College.
In particular, the role supports the delivery of the universitys obligations under the sectoral Consent Framework and provides specialist legal advice in an evolving regulatory and operational environment.
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Senior Administrative 3 Salary Scale (€100,839 - €130,217 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
