Position Title: Maintenance Technician Location: Mayo Reports To: Production manager Employment Type: Full time Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our clients team. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site. Key Responsibilities Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of plant machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and operational standards. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out timely repairs to minimize production downtime. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs. Manage and monitor spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available when needed. Prioritize and respond to maintenance requests, supporting smooth and uninterrupted production operations. Apply hands-on skills in basic machining bearing and shaft assembly, and fault diagnosis to resolve technical issues. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and process improvements. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Requirements: Proven experience or strong aptitude in machine maintenance, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision. Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Minimum of 2 years' experience in machine maintenance (preferred but not essential). Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
