Senior Security Software Engineer
Location: Dublin
Type: Full-Time |90,000- 110,000 DOE
A large global technology organisation in Dublin is expanding its security engineering function and is hiring a Senior Secure Software Engineer to help strengthen how its products are designed, built, and protected.
This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and security, focusing on building reliable systems, identifying weaknesses in applications, and improving how security is embedded across the development lifecycle.
You'll work closely with product teams, security engineers, and platform groups to design secure features, review code, analyse issues, and support large-scale improvements across the environment.
What You'll Do
1. Build and support secure, scalable backend systems across cloud and on-prem environments.
2. Review application designs and code to identify weaknesses, risk areas, and improvement opportunities.
3. Develop internal tools, automation, or scripts to support detection, testing, and secure development workflows.
4. Analyse issues reported by engineering teams and contribute to long-term fixes and design enhancements.
5. Support security reviews, threat modelling sessions, and product assessments.
6. Work across multiple teams to improve development standards, drive best practices, and reduce recurring issues.
7. Help improve internal platforms, pipelines, and processes to make secure engineering more consistent and efficient.
What You Bring
8. Strong experience as a software engineer working on backend or platform systems.
9. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Go, C#, Rust, .
10. Understanding of secure coding, common vulnerabilities, and application risk areas.
11. Experience working with distributed systems, cloud services, or high-scale applications.
12. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or automated testing workflows.
13. Ability to analyse complex technical issues and communicate findings clearly.
