Position Summary
The Director of Compass Operational Excellence Design is responsible for establishing and owning the global Compass OpEx maturity model. This role partners with Site OpEx teams to support network-wide goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People (SQCDP). The Director will design, test, and continuously improve OpEx elements, tools, and standards, and will focus on capability building and enabling access to OpEx resources through digital and AI-enabled mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and own the global Compass OpEx maturity model in partnership with Site OpEx teams to support SQCDP goals.
Design, test, sustain, and continuously improve OpEx elements, tools, and standards through feedback loops with sites and the Compass site deployment team.
Develop and implement capability building tracks and training programs to upskill the organization on Operational Excellence.
Establish mechanisms and digital/AI tools to enable sites and functions to access tools, standards, playbooks, and training resources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of OpEx practices across the network.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of OpEx initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
Support change management and communication efforts to drive adoption of OpEx practices.
Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in Operational Excellence methodologies.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies; Black Belt preferred.
Proven ability to design and implement operational excellence frameworks and tools in a complex, multi-site organization.
Experience in developing and delivering training programs and capability building initiatives.
Adept at integrating Digital and AI technologies into operational excellence frameworks; able to leverage advanced analytics, automation, and intelligent systems to enhance maturity model design, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in change management and driving cultural change within an organization.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed for full-time employees. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, and other programs described on the careers site. Eligibility varies by role and location.
