OverviewAs a Firmware QA Test Engineer you will estimate, plan, and coordinate testing activities. You will also ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked and resolved.QualificationsDegree in science or engineering, or related disciplines3-5 years' experience with telematics based software testing or firmware testingISTQB Foundation Level certificationProven experience with automation testing, ideally using keyword-driven testing tools such as Robot FrameworkFamiliarity with scripting languages such as PythonDemonstrated knowledge of system development life cycle methodologiesDemonstrated knowledge of QA processes, tools and methodologiesProven diagnostic and debugging skillsResponsibilitiesBecome familiar with both hardware and software being testedWork with development team to clearly understand requirements and test data needsReview and signoff on requirement documentationReview risk registers and include relevant QA project risksDevelop test cases and perform manual testing in Waterfall environmentDesign and run automated test casesAssist with building up a regression test suiteCreate comprehensive bug reportsRecord test results and verify bug fixesReporting of test coverage and progressPreparation of test strategy and test report documentation in compliance with the appropriate regulatory requirementsEnsure all QA documentation is to a high standard to pass company auditsSelf-starter/Ability to work on own initiativeWork in line with agreed company processes
