are seeking a new team member as a Maintenance & Facilities technician, based at our production facility in Athenry, Co. Galway. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of our site operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with our operations and production teams to ensure everything on-site runs to the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and performance; and will handle the upkeep, repair, and efficient operation of buildings, equipment, and services.
Please note, this is a full-time, on-site position based in Athenry.
Core Responsibilities
* Preventative Maintenance:
* Carry out regular inspections and servicing of machinery, tools, and building systems, adhering to site safety protocols.
* Reactive Repairs:
* Respond promptly to breakdowns, leaks, electrical faults, or equipment malfunctions; reporting any issues promptly to management and assisting to liaise with external service providers for specialist works.
* Facilities Upkeep:
* Maintain overall site cleanliness, including yard and storage spaces.
* Building Fabric Maintenance:
* Perform basic works as required to keep the premises in good condition.
* Equipment Care:
* Ensure production or service equipment operates safely and efficiently through checks and minor adjustments; thus, supporting the production team by ensuring all production line equipment is in good working order.
* Record Keeping / Health & Safety:
* Log maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately in maintenance systems or checklists; risk assessments.
* Warehousing:
* Assist, as required, the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring all stock and materials are handled safely and efficiently.
* Emergency Response:
* Act as part of the emergency or fire response team where needed.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a site, maintenance, or facilities supervision role (preferably in food production, manufacturing, or logistics).
* Strong mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled maintenance background.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment safely and effectively.
* Working knowledge of
Health & Safety legislation,
safe working and workplace hygiene standards.
* Ability to diagnose and repair minor faults quickly and safely.
* Ability to operate and supervise machinery safely and efficiently.
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe site.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive, hands-on attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Strong IT skills for reporting and documentation
* Forklift licence or relevant certifications would be an advantage.
Typical Qualifications / Experience
* Trade qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or general maintenance.
* 2+ years experience in a facilities, maintenance, or engineering environment.
* Safe Pass / Manual Handling and /or other certification advantageous.
* Forklift experience desirable but not essential as training can be provided on site.
Working Hours:
40 hours .
Salary:
€40,000-€55,000.
