About Our Team
We are looking for a skilled and experienced team leader to join our production team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of staff and ensuring that all health and safety procedures are followed. They will also be responsible for reporting near misses, engaging with staff daily, and solving problems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all staff follow standard operating procedures.
2. Report incidents and near misses to management.
3. Engage with staff daily to address concerns and maintain communication.
4. Solve problems and manage day-to-day operational issues.
5. Ensure customer requirements are met and all export paperwork is completed on time.
6. Follow export processes and confirm they are in place before shipments leave the facility.
7. Pick and ship orders to customer specifications, maintaining a high presentation standard.
8. Ensure stock rotation is adhered to and inventory levels are maintained.
9. Complete all priority picking instructions from production planners.
10. Manage the area and coordinate with departments regarding stock levels.
11. Remove stock from storage once frozen.
12. Liaise with quality control departments to ensure protocols are followed and stock is not misplaced.
13. Operate and oversee equipment for loading and unloading trailers.
14. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
15. Ensure all paperwork is completed, including intake and despatch checks.
16. Organize logistics to maintain workflow and floor movement.
17. Provide cover when needed.
18. Review and support the evening shift with the Logistics Lead.
19. Ensure staff start shifts on time and follow break and clocking procedures.
20. Engage with management to identify and drive improvements and opportunities.
21. Manage employee holidays.
Requirements:
1. Basic computer skills are advantageous.
2. Good leadership and people management skills.
3. Target-oriented approach.
4. Commitment to confidentiality.
5. Previous experience in meat processing (beef industry preferred).
6. Responsibility from pre-operational checks to post-operational handover.
7. Flexibility with working hours.
8. Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
