As outlined in this job description, the cCNS pathway will facilitate the post holder to be supported to professionally and clinically develop the skills and knowledge required to achieve the competencies of the CNS role.
The cCNS post holder will be enabled to deliver care in line with the core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008.
The purpose of this Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist, Stroke Care EDS post is to:
* Provide effective and efficient delivery of an evidence based, patient focused, quality service for adults with stroke.
* Act as a resource and provide expert opinion, advice and guidance to nursing colleagues and other healthcare professionals in the area of stroke care.
* In conjunction with the relevant Director/Assistant Director of Nursing, ensure the stroke care is delivered in line with national policy.
* In conjunction with the relevant Director/Assistant Director of Nursing, develop local policies and care path-ways within stroke care.
* Work with undergraduate and postgraduate agencies to support the development of a skilled workforce in stroke care.
