STAFF SILICON LAYOUT ENGINEER
THE ROLE: We are seeking an adaptive, self-motivated custom layout engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor, you will help drive and enhance AMD's ability to deliver industry-leading technologies. The custom layout team encourages continuous technical innovation and professional development.
ABOUT THE TEAM: The Serial Transceiver team designs high-speed serial interface systems integrated into CPU, GPU, and FPGA products for various wireline communication applications. Successful implementation of these solutions requires advanced knowledge of mixed-signal layout techniques, especially at CMOS FinFET manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities include layout of analog and digital circuits such as CTLE, DFE, and multi-GHz PLLs for serial solutions up to 200+Gbps. There are also opportunities to contribute to methodology initiatives to accelerate design and layout processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience with advanced layout techniques and hands-on experience on nodes below 28nm
* Top-level and block-level floorplanning skills
* Understanding of layout effects, parasitic minimization, IR drop, and isolation techniques
* Expertise in matching and interdigitation techniques
* Problem-solving skills
* Proficiency with industry-standard tools, including custom layout and physical verification
* Knowledge of SKILL programming is a plus
* Interest in improving layout methodologies
* Experience with Cadence Virtuoso 12.2 or newer preferred
* High-speed analog circuit layout experience is advantageous
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including with remote teams
* Minimum education: BS/BEng (Hons) with 10+ years of layout experience
