Role: Mechanical Site Fitter Location Base: Covering our Projects in the West and Midlands of Ireland.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the Site Mechanical Fitter are outlined as follows: Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.
Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter/Fabricator, Maintenance Mechanical Fitter.
Experienced in the mechanical installation of equipment, systems and pipework (including Stainless Steel, PVC, PE, and Ductile Iron).
Good working knowledge of mechanical systems including strip-down repair and re-building.
An interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.
Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
Ability to engage with suppliers and sub-contractors at procurement stage and in the delivery of their scope of supply during contract delivery.
Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise during project delivery.
Strong communication skills with a high level of motivation.
Full driving licence Main Duties and Responsibilities: The main duties and responsibilities of the Site Mechanical Fitter are outlined as follows: Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a "one team" culture.
Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to.
Review of design stage mechanical drawings and P ID in order to validate designs, familiarise with project and spot issues before they arise.
Site install of mechanical systems, pipework and equipment including supporting brackets and stands.
Pipework and valve installations may range from DN4mm to DN****mm in PVC, DI, PE or SS.
Modification, fabrication and installation of mechanical systems.
Complete system testing in the form of pipework pressure tests and completion of inspection test records (ITRs) on completion of installation.
Maintenance and repair of existing water / wastewater treatment equipment including strip-down, part replacement and re-building.
Troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation, strip-down and repair equipment as necessary to ensure good working order.
Conduct periodic inspections and preventative maintenance on system installations.
Organise and facilitate plant shutdowns and/or diversion of flows as required with project delivery team and the customer through permit-to-work systems.
Ensuring all works are to the company and mechanical standards.
Complete Health Safety checks and permits as required for work activities being undertaken.
Ensure a positive experience for the customer and their representatives instilling an ethos of professionalism, collaboration and co-operation.
Seek to improve the mechanical installation process by providing lessons learned feedback and innovative solutions for adoption on future projects.
Keep appraised of the latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).
Show an eagerness to learn and progress in your own career as well as the mentoring and training of more junior staff.
