The Metropole Hotel is looking for an experienced Food & Beverage Supervisor to join their food and beverage team on a full time basis.Job title: Food & Beverage Supervisor Your role is defined in terms of these values, as shown below: COMMITMENT to the PASSIONATE PURSUIT OF PERFECTION:Every team member is expected to strive for the 'Passionate Pursuit of Perfection' to ensure that the hotel guest's comfort and satisfaction is catered for in a friendly, helpful, efficient, and personalised manner. Position Overview:Trigon Hotels Food and Beverage Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of food and beverage operations.
They must balance team management, customer service, operational oversight and contribute to financial management of the department to ensure that the dining experience meets and exceeds the establishment's standards and enhances guest satisfaction. Operational Key Responsibilities:u Ensure the efficient running of the department or area.u Monitor team operations.u Demonstrate strong delegation skills.u Maintain standards and adhere to SOPs.u Conduct daily briefings and ensure clear communication.u Break down and delegate daily tasks.u Maintain a strong floor presence.u Possess in-depth knowledge of food and beverage.u Have expertise in service styles and techniques relevant to the department or area.u Collaborate with other departments.u Understand and manage booking systems, tills, and ordering processes.u Be aware of forward planning for business levels.u Support the completion and management of rosters.u Assist with administrative management.u Oversee holiday accrual and coverage.u Ensure GDPR and data management compliance.u Maintain high standards of cleanliness and upkeep. General Traits:u Understand and contribute to departmental goals and objectives planning.u Ensure guest and team safety, including training and adherence to safety protocols.u Maintain an active floor presence and effective time management.u Exhibit thorough decision-making capabilities.u Promote a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset.u Be well-organized and a critical thinker.u Pay attention to details.u Ensure effective communication at all levels. Financial Key Responsibilities:u Assist with setting and achieving departmental targets and goals.u Manage cash-up procedures.u Understand revenue and profit generation.u Focus on budgets and KPIs.u Manage F&B supplies storage and ordering.u Assist with stocktaking, payroll management, and departmental costings (team, linen, utilities, cleaning).u Manage beverage costs. Customer Key Responsibilities:u Assist with guest satisfaction and customer service scores.u Respond to guest feedback and requests.u Handle complaints effectively.u Manage the department's online reputation. Team Key Responsibilities:u Lead by example and motivate the team.u Participate in interviewing candidates and managing recruitment.u Facilitate a structured, positive and focused onboarding process for new team members.u Have thorough knowledge of team members' abilities and strengths. u Ensure comprehensive training for all team members in line with department SOP's.u Responsible for motivating the team to achieve their best.u Conduct monthly meetings, coaching, and counselling sessions.u Focus on team well-being.u Recognise team achievements (e.g., Employee of the Month).u Engage with team members both internally and externally (e.g., WorkVivo).u Promote cultural intelligence and engagement with charity partnerships.u Assist with team retention and development.u Conduct appraisals and provide feedback.u Manage team 6-week, 10-week performance and probation meetings.u Handle job chats and initial disciplinary actions, be aware of serious and late-stage disciplinary issues.u Ensure awareness of company values and culture. Measurable Key Responsibilities:u Understand retention and succession planning.u Assist with tracking customer feedback scores.u Be aware of employee satisfaction survey scores.u Support KPI results and annual inspection outcomes.u Recognize hospitality awards and mystery shopper scores.u Be aware of industry recognition.u Assist with implementing sustainable practices and initiatives within the food & beverage department.u Assist in ensuring the food & beverage areas are accessible to all guests.u Provide monthly HR reporting results.u Help meet and exceed revenue budgets.u Monitor team engagement scores and manage costs.u Focus on converting revenue to profit.
