Key Responsibilities
* Inspire, lead, and develop a diverse team of world-class engineers in the design and development of ground-breaking transcatheter devices and related procedures.
* Play a critical role in organisational scaling, ensuring the team evolves in alignment with business goals and possesses the capabilities to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
* Partner on strategic planning initiatives, working closely with internal and external experts to enhance both clinical and technical capabilities.
* Build and strengthen cross-functional and cross-site relationships within a large, global matrixed organisation.
* Support the delivery of complex and high-impact projects, often involving ambiguity or undefined pathways.
* Make sound project decisions grounded in technical and clinical insight, combined with customer input.
* Oversee a team of senior engineers and managers engaged in both product development and early-stage technology exploration.
* Provide mentorship and coaching, ensuring robust career development plans and growth opportunities are in place for all direct reports.
* Collaborate with project core teams to establish clear objectives and review performance progress.
* Manage functional budgeting and resource planning, ensuring efficient and effective use of team capacity.
* Ensure full adherence to company policies and relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Drive innovative solutions to both engineering and organisational challenges.
Ideal Background & Expertise
* Level 8 degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
* At least 7 years of hands-on engineering experience in a comparable environment.
* Minimum 5 years of leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing technical teams.
* Strong people leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
* Proven expertise in program management within a regulated environment.
* A dynamic, proactive mindset with the ability to lead in a global, cross-functional team environment.
* Extensive experience in the medical device sector, with a results-driven and impact-focused approach.
