The Role as an experienced Greenkeeper, you will work under the direction of the Head Greenkeeper/Course Manager to perform a variety of essential maintenance tasks across all playing surfaces and surrounding areas. This is a full-time, physically demanding position that requires flexibility with working hours, including early mornings and weekends, depending on the season and event schedules.Key ResponsibilitiesCourse Maintenance: Perform daily course set-up tasks, including changing hole locations, moving tee markers, and raking bunkers.Turf Management: Mow all grass areas (greens, tees, fairways, roughs), top-dress, aerate, and scarify turf to ensure optimal playability and health.Plant Care & Pest Control: Apply fertilisers, herbicides, and insecticides to control weeds, pests, and turf diseases, following all health and safety guidelines and environmental regulations.Irrigation & Drainage: Operate and maintain irrigation and drainage systems.Machinery Operation: Safely operate a variety of grounds maintenance machinery, including tractors, ride-on mowers, and strimmers, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.General Maintenance: Maintain non-turf areas such as pathways, water features, trees, shrubs, and flower beds, as well as general litter collection.Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety procedures for yourself, colleagues, and golfers.Candidate RequirementsExperience: A minimum of 2-3 years' proven experience in a greenkeeping or sports-turf environment is essential.Qualifications: Relevant amenity turf qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Sports Turf Management or equivalent) are preferred.Licences/Certifications:A full, clean driving licence is essential.Spraying certificates (PA1, PA2, PA6) are highly advantageous.Chainsaw certificates (CS30/31) and Manual Handling certificates are desirable.Skills:In-depth knowledge of turf management practices and course maintenance equipment.Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both within a team and independently.A flexible and positive attitude towards work, with the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.A passion for golf or sports, with an understanding of the basic rules of golf is a benefit.BenefitsA competitive salary commensurate with experience.Opportunities for further education and professional development.Provided uniform and PPE.(Insert any other benefits here, e.g., Staff meals, golfing privileges).How to ApplyStarting Salary €35,000 - Depending on ExperienceEmail CV and cover letter to:Ben MooreJob Type: Full-timePay: €15.00-€17.00 per hourBenefits:Company pensionEmployee discountSick payExperience:Greenkeeping: 1 year (preferred)Location:Sutton D13 F3C1 (preferred)Work Location: In person
