Join UNSW as a Lecturer – Senior Lecturer (ILP Coordinator) at our Port Macquarie campus. This part‑time role (14 hours per week) is a fixed‑term contract until 30 June 2026, with the possibility of renewal. Competitive remuneration is based on Academic Level B or C, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading.
UNSW Rural delivers world‑class medical education to regional Australia. As an Education‑Focused role you will support the Independent Learning Project (ILP) at the campus, supervising undergraduate medical students through research projects that build self‑directed learning, critical thinking, and research skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating ILP activities, supervising students, guiding thesis and coursework.
* Providing support in local hospital and clinical environments for ILP and other rural health projects, including design, governance, ethics, and funding applications.
* Engaging with the Public Health Network, AMS, and local health and community networks to build partnerships.
* Contributing to the RHMT research plan, rural research framework, workforce retention strategies, and data collection.
* Assisting with program coordination, offering expert advice to students and staff on course matters.
* Supporting students and supervisors in research designs, ethics applications, statistical analyses, and publication preparation.
Qualifications and skills:
* Fellowship of a Specialist Medical College or relevant postgraduate degree with experience in a medical/health environment.
* Experience supervising ILP or similar projects, teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
* Experience in rural health research, grant and ethical approval processes.
* Strong communication and partnership building skills with local health authorities.
* Proven expertise in a relevant sub‑discipline, including module convenorship and publication record.
