Part Qualified Accountant required for a role that involves comprehensive finance management.
This is an opportunity to work with the organisation's financial function, assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements and year-end reporting.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing finances, planning budgets and preparing forecasts.
They will also need to maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules, oversee accounts payable and receivable functions and support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with budget holders to review and manage department-level spending, as well as maintain payroll systems including weekly payroll processing and revenue payroll submissions.
They will also need to manage debtors and creditors ledgers, process invoices and make weekly creditors payment runs.
The role involves submitting P-Mod Payroll, VAT, RCT and PSWT returns, reconciling bank accounts, credit cards and PayPal, and assisting with bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and prepayments.
Liaison with auditors and department staff regarding annual audit requirements is also a key aspect of this role.
Annual reports to the department, including annual and interim budgets, must be completed by the successful candidate. They will also need to analyse variances, perform variance analysis and explain key financial movements to senior stakeholders.
Process improvements and automation within the finance function are encouraged, as well as developing internal reports, dashboards and KPIs.
Additional finance ad-hoc duties may be required from time to time.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in broad finance.
* Experience in using finance software.
* Requisite knowledge of corporate governance in the public sector.
* Experience in liaising with auditors.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
