Lead R&D EngineerLocation: Co. Mayo, IrelandOverviewSeeking an experienced R&D professional to drive early-stage innovation and develop new product concepts and technologies. The role involves leading and supporting cross-functional teams from clinical need through to concept and prototype development.Key ResponsibilitiesTranslate clinical needs into device concepts and prototypes in line with human factors and regulatory requirements.Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance the product portfolio.Provide technical support to NPD, Marketing, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.Lead or support cross-functional project teams.Manage project schedules, risks, and deliverables.Prepare financial justifications for project approvals.Review vendor offerings and source materials/components.Support product introductions, trials, and patent activities.Requirements8+ years' industry experience, preferably in medical devices.Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline (Master's/PhD preferred).Strong innovation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Experience with human factors, product design, and prototyping.Good knowledge of medical device regulations and quality systems.Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.SolidWorks/3D modelling experience (preferred).Fluent in English (written and spoken).
