Our company is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join our team on a 12 month contract.
Purpose of the Job:
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of our supply chain by meeting production schedules, managing material requirements, and overseeing inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage process orders and maintain accurate records.
2. Determine process order components and generate lot assignment sheets.
3. Generate purchase requisitions as necessary and ensure timely material release.
4. Update Bill of Materials (BOM) to reflect accurate customer requirements.
5. Maintain accurate inventory transactions, quantities, and due dates.
6. Prepare documentation for disposing of obsolete or rejected materials in accordance with company policies and procedures.
7. Monitor and control inventories of bulk suppliers and finished products to achieve plant inventory level goals.
8. Develop contingency plans for technical or supply issues.
9. Execute the production schedule by ensuring process orders are available, batch determinations are completed, material availability, and technical issues are resolved. Minimize distressed inventory particularly lot ends.
10. Generate and maintain Master Production Schedules (MPS).
11. Create and maintain ERP data in accordance with company policy and procedures.
12. Complete all activities in a safe manner ensuring any potential safety issues and areas for improvement are addressed.
13. Ensure Environmental procedures such as recycling and waste minimization are adhered to and improvements made where possible.
14. Approve change requests for planning groups as required.
15. Identify and participate in continuous improvement projects, process simplification, system enhancements, and automation of activities.
Education & Competencies:
* Appropriate qualification in Purchasing/Production Planning or relevant APICS examinations or General Degree with relevant Manufacturing experience.
* At least two years experience in production planning in a manufacturing company. Preferably previous experience with planning short shelf life products. Overall experience required is three years.
* A high level of expertise is required in solving scheduling, logistics, expediting, and purchasing problems.
