Position overview:
The Mechanical Operative is a key member of the Waterford Engineering Team, supporting the plant's overall business plans and objectives. Please note this position requires working in a shift pattern.
Your key responsibilities include:
1. Operate, repair, and maintain end making systems and supporting systems. Conduct quality checks as required.
2. Assist in resolving production issues to minimize downtime (MTBF).
3. Support Lead Engineers, Toolmakers, Electricians, and fitters in troubleshooting and resolving engineering and technical problems.
4. Promote quality improvement and preventative actions through continuous improvement activities (CI Cards & Shingo).
5. Perform regular checks on tooling, products, and equipment to ensure high standards and proper specifications.
6. Identify potential problems with equipment and report to supervision.
7. Train trainee operators to resolve equipment downtime.
8. Assist during mechanical or tooling breakdowns and maintenance activities.
9. Perform tooling maintenance and adjustments to meet specifications, with engineering guidance if needed.
10. Maintain accurate records as requested.
11. Adhere to safety rules, keep the work area clean, and promote safety, hygiene, and good housekeeping practices, including recycling and 5S.
12. Maintain tools in good condition.
13. Cover breaks as required by supervision.
Experience and skills required:
* Interest and aptitude for mechanics.
* Good communication skills, ability to explain processes clearly.
* Fluency in written and spoken English.

* Annual salary of €59,151.30 (including 33% shift allowance).
