Role Summary
Dawn Meats is a premium meat processor and supplier of choice for leading supermarket, foodservice, and restaurant businesses. We are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Fitter / Mechanic at Dawn Meats Charleville. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our machinery and equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Conduct routine maintenance and repair tasks on various beef processing equipment, including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and packaging machinery.
2. Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot faults, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
3. Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment longevity and optimal performance.
4. Replace and repair defective components such as motors, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems.
5. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and company policies.
6. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
7. Complete training and review SOPs on compliance.
Your role will involve tackling a wide range of business challenges in a busy Maintenance/Engineering environment.
The ideal candidate will have or demonstrate:
1. Time-served Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) or a time-served mechanic with at least 2 years post-apprenticeship experience.
2. Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
3. Experience with machines & process equipment, controls, & automation.
4. Experience in electrical & mechanical installations, maintenance, and refrigeration systems.
5. Good communication skills, both written and oral, meeting the requirements of the role.
6. Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to logically follow problem-solving processes.
7. Hold a full driving license.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
9. A flexible approach to working hours, including overtime and on-call duties.
