Managing Director
Location: Galway, Ireland
Role Purpose
Working closely with the Founder and Divisional Managing Director, the Managing Director will be responsible for setting the company’s 5-year strategic plan. You will also ensure that the business has a clear and agreed annual plan in order to achieve the strategic goals.
You will oversee the financial and operational performance of the business, ensuring that the company continues to deliver sustainable year on year growth through providing a compelling proposition to both customers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Drive the implementation of the business strategy
Lead the integration of new partnerships.
Champion company values and unique selling points.
Commercial & Operational Excellence
Liase with the head of sales to ensure sales targets are in line with yearly plan.
Ensure day-to-day operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Ensure capacities are optimised to achieve and scale delivery to client.
Drive operational KPIs: customer satisfaction, turnaround times, and cost management.
Full P&L responsibility.
Ensure that budgets and forecasts are both stretching and achievable. Propose, review and monitor budgets and forecasts, providing guidance and support to the Finance Director.
Identify cost‑saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
Lead, mentor, and develop the leadership team.
Foster accountability and high performance.
Promote a culture of ongoing development to ensure effective succession planning and a highly competent management cohort.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build relationships with clients, partners, and regulators.
Represent company when required in industry forums, trade boards and collaborations.
Required Experience & Qualifications
5 years in senior leadership within TICC, laboratory, or related sectors.
A proven commercial and operational track record.
Experience with regulated environments and laboratory operations.
Degree-level education; MBA advantageous.
