Residential Support Worker: Mallow, Cork - Part time / Full time
Purpose of Role: to provide a range of services to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities and/or autism in a residential setting. All care is person centered and provides a holistic service in partnership with the person's circle of support.

Support Workers – €14.50 to €18.00 per hour

Shifts & Hours
Shifts Available: 12-hour shifts (8 am to 8 pm and 8 pm to 8 am). Working hours are a mix and can be agreed at job offer stage. Flexibility for shift work may be required due to the 24/7 nature of the role.

Vetting: All applicants will be subject to reference checks, Garda Vetting and a request to provide security clearance from any country in which they resided for more than 6 months after their 16th birthday.

Essential Criteria
Permission to work in Ireland.
One year of experience in a Healthcare setting.
A minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Health or Social Care or equivalent for a Support Worker role.
Other relevant qualifications (e.g., Nursing, Addiction Studies, Teaching, Accredited Youth Training, Psychology) may be considered. Full clean driver’s licence.
Desirable/Advantage
* Experience working in a Residential Setting
* Regulatory compliance knowledge and HIQA standards
* Experience/knowledge of report writing and client support plans
Candidate Skills & Experience
* Ability to support clients respectfully with goals and needs at the centre of every task
* Understanding of preventing and managing challenging behaviour
* Strong communication & interpersonal skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Comfortable using information technology and providing reports
Main Duties / Responsibilities
* Support service users with an intellectual/ physical disability, autism
* Support service users to understand their environment, learn new skills and maximise independence
* Assist individuals with daily living activities
* Support health and well-being, personal care including continence where required
* Help individuals live a meaningful life with equal citizenship
* Facilitate participation and community integration
* Act as an advocate for clients/residents
* Involve clients in formulation and execution of their care/placement plan
* Accompany service users to appointments and events
* Assist service users with reduced mobility
* Undertake duties as assigned by manager/team leader to support care
* Manage challenging behaviours using a positive behaviour support plan
* Provide reports on client activities to management
* Attend staff meetings and contribute to care plan progression/ implementation
