Overview
Laboratory Technician position with a leading meat processing company based in County Tipperary.
Matrix Recruitment is assisting with this permanent, full-time role, operating Monday to Friday on alternating morning, day and evening shifts.
Your New Job
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out routine testing and sampling, monitoring quality and hygiene, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
Lab Technician Responsibilities
Conduct routine sampling, microbiological testing (including Trichinella), swabbing verification, and product quality monitoring.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, hygiene, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and third-party accreditations (BRC, Bord Bia, retailer).
Maintain records and manuals, generate reports, and support the Food Safety & Quality Management System.
Manage non-conformances, corrective/preventive actions, sanitation processes, and communication with customers, officials, and internal teams.
What we are looking for
Relevant qualification in Science, Food Science, or Agri-Science
Minimum 1–2 years' experience in quality assurance
Previous experience in a food manufacturing/factory environment
Strong skills in teamwork, attention to detail, communication, and laboratory practices
