Technical Business Analyst – AI Factory

Reports to: AI Programme Manager

What You’ll Be Doing
Requirements & Analysis
Engage stakeholders to understand business needs for AI use cases.
Document functional and non‑functional requirements using Musgrave templates.
Identify data needs, system integrations, and dependencies early.
Define scope and measurable success criteria for each feature.
Ensure requirements reflect CPMAI lifecycle needs, including data readiness, evaluation criteria, and model/performance considerations.
Backlog & User Story Management
Translate requirements into clear user stories and epics within Azure DevOps.
Ensure user stories follow Musgrave standards with clear acceptance criteria, test alignment, and traceability to business value.
Refine and prioritise backlog items with the Pod Project Manager.
Maintain full traceability between requirements, stories, and test cases.
Support sprint planning and core Agile ceremonies.
Ensure user stories are written to Musgrave standards with clear acceptance criteria, test alignment, and traceability to business value.
Collaboration Within the AI Pod
Act as the go‑to contact for requirement clarification during development.
Work closely with the AI Solution Architect to validate technical feasibility and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, alongside developers, data scientists, UX/UI designers, and testers.
Facilitate demos, feedback loops, and business engagement throughout delivery.
Governance & Compliance
Contribute to the preparation of governance documents (e.g., Project Briefs, DPIAs, CAR), ensuring requirements are accurate while Programme Managers retain ownership of governance processes.
Embed GDPR, ethical AI, and architectural standards into all specifications.
Support solution and architecture review checkpoints.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute to ways of working across the AI Factory.
Improve templates, requirement quality, and backlog hygiene.
Share best practices with other pods as the model scales.
What We’re Looking For
3–6+ years’ experience as a BA or similar role within technology or data projects.
Experience with AI, advanced analytics, or data‑driven solutions is an advantage.
Strong understanding of data flows, APIs, and integration concepts.
Comfortable working in Agile environments and using tools like Azure DevOps.
Excellent communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.
Relevant degree preferred; BA certifications are a plus.
