The Assistant Director of Nursing role is a senior nursing position that plays a crucial part in the smooth operation of the healthcare service. The post holder works closely with the Director of Nursing, Directorate Nurse Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage nursing staff and services within allocated resources.

* Set targets and objectives with the Director of Nursing for the Assistant Director of Nursing appointed.

* Quarterly review of performance versus targets during the probationary period and annually thereafter.

Qualifications and Requirements
">
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
">
1. At least 7 years of recent post-registration nursing experience, with 3 years of nursing management experience at a minimum of CNM2 grade in an acute setting.
">
2. A postgraduate qualification at not less than level 8 on the NFQ framework in the area of healthcare or management related area.
">
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, evidence of higher learning and professional development, and proven clinical and managerial ability with vision and leadership skills.
">
Additionally, candidates must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service. They must also be of good character.
