Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role:
As a High-Speed Interface Architect – Automotive Systems for the external memory subsystem of our automotive microcontrollers, you will take ownership of the process from defining product requirements to handing over to the design team, working closely with technical marketing, system architecture, product development, technology development, and chip-package co-design.
* Be the lead engineer for the high-speed memory interfaces, including LPDDR5
* Be the interface between our application engineering and development teams and drive active knowledge transfer
* Define new high-speed memory interfacing for functional components and outline requirements for our development teams
* Ensure the right sourcing strategy of high-speed communication interface IP based on our application assumptions, together with the platform architects
* Contribute to the device configuration concept, support pad strategies, and drive alignment across system-level peripheral integration
* Drive system-level DRAM integration know-how
* Serve as the Technical Interface for both internal and external IP providers, taking responsibility for the following activities
* Managing technical topics within the IP analysis phase by breaking down application use cases into hardware and software product requirements
* Challenge requirements to achieve the best area-power-performance ratio
* Identifying synergies between different IPs
* Supporting interactions from IP providers till package development
* Ensuring conformance with automotive quality and safety requirements
* Own and create technical documentation to provide functional descriptions in compliance to ISO 26262 and ISO 21434
* Proactively sharing implementation know-how inside the organization
Your Profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed:
You are a team player who communicates flexibly and proactively within cross-functional teams. With strong problem-solving skills and solid technical expertise, you are ready to drive innovation and contribute to meaningful solutions.
* A Degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field
* At least 8 years of experience as a concept, design, and system engineer for microcontroller or SoC based products
* Key expertise with different high-speed memory interfaces in Automotive, Consumer, and Networking applications
* Solid knowledge of microcontroller system architectures and peripheral integration
* Experience in the definition and integration of memory interfaces
* Expertise in IP selection and SoC integration
* Knowledge in MCU and SoC architectures, preferably having RISC-V background
* In-depth knowledge of JEDEC and other relevant standards, and open eyes & ears for market trends
* Familiar with safety aspects of memory interfaces
* Expertise with implementing high-speed clock and power supply and as well as floorplan & physical constraints
