Unum Technology Centre in Carlow serves as a strategic software development and IT services centre supporting Unum, a leading provider of income protection in the US. Our team of IT professionals builds solutions and critical business applications to digitally transform the way we do business.
We are looking for a dynamic IT Delivery Manager to manage a team of talented IT professionals. If you have a strong background in software delivery, experience as a senior/lead in development, project management, business analysis, or test engineering, and a passion for people management, we want to hear from you!
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Agile methodologies, have a robust understanding of the software development lifecycle, and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills. You should excel in stakeholder management, be a proactive problem solver, and adept at removing obstacles that impact team performance.
The Role
1. Lead an agile delivery team of AWS / Data engineers and testers.
2. Foster a ‘can-do’ culture to drive team effectiveness.
3. Own project planning, delivery, and execution with high quality and transparency.
4. Provide scrum leadership for the team.
5. Act as a leader, mentor, and facilitator, managing recruitment and career development.
6. Oversee all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle.
7. Collaborate with Product Management and Senior stakeholders to ensure alignment on business requirements.
8. Implement and manage practices to streamline development and deployment processes.
What You Offer
1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
2. 8+ years in a software development background.
3. 2+ years of people management experience, preferably in an agile environment.
4. Advocate of best practices with a passion for technology.
5. Working knowledge of relational databases, web services, and software testing.
6. Experience in delivering multi-platform projects (e.g., Mobile, Web, and backend).
