The role
Support Worker – Residential & Respite Service
St. Christopher's Service provides a comprehensive, efficient, and innovative service to people with intellectual disabilities. It is a high‑quality, community‑based service based on identified individualised needs, enabling service users to reach their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the highest attainable standards of person‑centered care.
Promote optimum independence and choice for service users.
Enhance the quality of life of the Service User in all aspects of daily living within a regulated framework.
Assist and cooperate in the smooth running of the assigned area.
Hours & Employment
35 hours per week, based on a rolling roster, including live waking night duties or sleepovers.
Permanent post.
Qualifications
Minimum of FETAC Level 5 in Social Care/Special Needs/Healthcare or a related discipline.
Experience & Competencies
Experience working with persons with an intellectual disability.
Knowledge of residential, social, and recreational needs of persons with an intellectual disability.
Knowledge of advocacy and individual personal plans/person‑centred planning.
Full clean driving licence and willingness to drive as part of the role is essential.
