Specifics of the Job:
Full-time, site-based EHS Advisor role in the Dublin region.
Overview:
The Site EHS Advisor is responsible for ensuring that all environmental, health, and safety standards are implemented, maintained, and continuously improved on a specific project site.
The role supports the project team in achieving compliance with Irish legislation, company policies, client requirements, and industry best practices.
This position plays a key part in fostering a proactive safety culture, minimizing risk, and ensuring the wellbeing of all personnel on site.
Key Duties
Health & Safety Management and Leadership
· Implement the company's EHS policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
· Implement the ISO ***** and ***** Management systems.
· Promoting the organisations safety culture, vision, values and objectives.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish health and safety legislation (e.g., Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act **** and Construction Regulations ****).
· Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and walkthroughs to identify and control hazards.
· Monitor contractor performance and provide guidance to ensure safe work practices.
Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
· Be visibly active on site each day — walking the site, observing work activities, and engaging directly with site operatives and subcontractors.
· Identify unsafe behaviours or conditions and take immediate corrective action
Risk Assessment and Control
· Coordinating the review and approval of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
· Support site teams in developing and implementing effective control measures.
· Participate in design and planning reviews to identify potential EHS risks early.
Incident Management
· Lead or assist in investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
· Compile detailed reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
· Track closeout of actions and ensure lessons learned are communicated.
Training and Engagement
· Deliver site safety inductions, toolbox talks, targeted safety briefings and topical safety training packages.
· Promote positive safety culture through engagement and visible leadership.
· Support behavioural safety programme and worker involvement programmes.
Environmental Stewardship
· Ensure environmental management controls are in place (waste segregation, spill prevention, noise/dust control, etc.).
· Monitor compliance with environmental legislation and company sustainability goals.
· Assist with environmental reporting and audits.
Reporting and Administration
· Maintain accurate EHS documentation, including inspection records, training logs, and incident reports.
· Prepare weekly and monthly EHS performance reports for the project and corporate teams.
Skills / Experience required for the role:
· Relevant EHS qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Management).
· Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar EHS role, ideally within construction, engineering, pharmaceutical, or data centre sectors.
· Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation and codes of practice.
· Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
Hold a full, clean Driving license
Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including strong excel skills
Ability to work on own initiative and exhibit strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to demonstrate building strong working relationships and stakeholder management
· Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
