Your new role
Due to an expanding pipeline of Building Surveying instructions, we are looking for an Architectural Technician / Technologist to join their team.
The successful candidate will bring proven experience in delivering innovative commercial design solutions, with strong capabilities in space planning, concept development, and the preparation of drawings, visuals, and presentations for both clients and internal teams. Experience working directly with clients, contractors, and design teams is essential. While not a requirement, site and project management experience—including attending site meetings, inspections, and snagging—would be an advantage. This role offers excellent potential for professional development and cross-functional growth.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Relevant degree or diploma in Architectural Technology/Design, Construction Technology, or related discipline.
2. Strong technical knowledge of building construction, materials & specifications, building systems and services.
3. Detailed knowledge of current Building Regs, Health & Safety Regulations and general property/construction-related legislation.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, 3-D visuals, Photoshop, In-design and other industry-standard design software.
5. Ability to develop drawings from inception to completion, including preparing construction drawings and writing technical specifications for tendering/pricing purposes.
• Strong analytical mindset with an ability to think outside the box to identify solutions.
6. Willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team & contribute to delivering best-in-class outcomes for clients.
7. Excellent interpersonal communication skills
8. Experience in contract administration, project management and dealing with contractors and commercial fit-outs, refurbishments
9. Experience of working with clients, building client relationships, working as part of a team in a consultancy-based environment
10. Experience in, or interested in, energy upgrading of buildings, energy retrofitting, low-carbon design and ESG principles
