Our client is a modern boutique hotel in Galway City, renowned for its excellent food and relaxed atmosphere. They are seeking a new head chef.
Applicants should come from a high-quality restaurant, gastro bar, or hotel background, ideally with a mix of experience. While ideally having some experience as a head chef, our client will also consider candidates who have worked no higher than sous level.
The Candidate and the Role:
* Experience in a high-quality gastropub in a busy environment
* Lead the kitchen team - mentor, train, and support
* Hands-on approach demanding high standards
* Ensure quality & consistency are maintained
* Establish and maintain SOPs regarding HACCP, quality, and cost control
* Culinary excellence driven by passion
* Focus on both creative and financial aspects
* Manage staff, food, and waste costs
* Manage supplier and vendor relationships
* Be a team player and an integral part of the hospitality team
* Flexibility with working hours, including evenings and weekends
* Work hours will not exceed 45 hours per week
* Capable of planning, executing, and multitasking
* Focus on traditional Irish food
