Position Description Group Internal Audit (GIA) is an independent, objective assurance and advisory function charged with reviewing company activities across all areas within ESB Group, as a service to the Board andmanagement. The person appointed to this role will have a functional reporting line to the Group Internal Auditor. The function supports the organisation inaccomplishingitsobjectivesthrough audits and other significant investigations, by examining and reporting on the management of risk, the adequacy of internal control and governance processes, and on the achievement of proper, efficient, and effective use of resources. Key Responsibilities Provide independent assurance to the Board and managementon governance, management of risk and the adequacy of internal control, through development and implementation of an annual risk based internal audit plan addressing key strategic and operationalrisks; Manage and support a multidisciplinary audit teamand ensure team are motivated and engaged while delivering a challenging auditplan; Ensure the GIA function adds value to the organisation byperforming advisory and consulting services, without prejudice to assuranceresponsibilities; Ensureappropriate reportingto key stakeholders including the Audit & Risk Committee,ExCoand Senior Managementon audit results, performancerelativeto the internal audit plan, GIA KPIs, results of external assessments of the function and follow up on implementation of auditactions; Ensure the functionoperateseffectively and inconformance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditingand best practice quality standards; and Support thedevelopment ofappropriate structures, skills and competencewithin the function including access to specialist skills and best practice via external co-source services. Proventrack recordofoperating at a senior leveland delivering complex assignments. Experience in internal audit, risk management or related fields is desirable. Engineering orutility experience is desirable. Reporting to Group Internal Auditor Location This positionwill bebased inESB Head Office,27 Fitzwilliam Street Lower.
