An exciting opportunity to join Ireland's leading independent manufacturer of concrete and bituminous construction materials. We are currently hiring quality control trainees to join our team. The successful candidates will be based at our Cork site for the initial training period. Upon completion of the training, you will be provided with a company van and will carry out your role at customer sites throughout the greater Cork and Tipperary areas.
This is a junior/trainee role within our technical department, suitable for secondary school graduates, early career applicants, and individuals seeking a career change. Materials testing experience is not required, as all successful applicants will receive comprehensive on-the-job training in testing methods and product specifics. Candidates will initially shadow lab managers and senior QC team members to develop the necessary skills.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out physical testing of building materials such as aggregates, ready-mix concrete, concrete blocks, paving blocks/flags, and road-making materials. These tests include size conformity and strength assessments.
* Perform physical sampling and testing of materials. Maintain good written records and demonstrate confidence in using IT equipment and software.
