Head of Health, Safety & Compliance Ireland We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Health, Safety & Compliance to lead and continuously develop my client's Health, Safety and compliance programme across Ireland.
This is a senior leadership role with real influence - shaping culture, driving standards, and partnering with operational leaders to ensure safe, compliant and high-performing operations.
The Role Lead the Health, Safety & Compliance strategy across all Irish operations.
Partner with senior and site management to embed a strong, visible and accountable safety culture.
Oversee and develop ISO 45001-aligned management systems and support integrated systems across quality and environmental disciplines.
Ensure full compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
Implement robust risk management frameworks, prioritising high-risk activities.
Oversee incident investigation processes, ensuring effective root cause analysis and preventative action.
Develop KPIs, audit programmes and performance reporting to drive measurable improvement.
Directly manage and develop the Health, Safety & Compliance team across Ireland.
Act as a trusted advisor to the business, balancing regulatory rigour with commercial pragmatism.
Support business change initiatives, ensuring safety and compliance are embedded at every stage.
About You You will bring: A degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
Professional membership (e.g.
IOSH) - Chartered or working toward Chartered status desirable.
Minimum 5 years senior managerial experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment across multiple sites.
Strong working knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and ISO 45001.
Proven experience delivering measurable improvements in safety performance.
Experience managing higher-risk environments (chemicals, flammable atmospheres, ADR, confined spaces desirable).
Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong IT and data capability, with the ability to interpret performance trends and drive action.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel across sites (with occasional international travel).
