A full copy of the strategy is available here: Strategy Document 2024-2027 - The MillThe Mill’s Economic Impact:According to a recent economic impact report by economist Dr. Pat McCloughan of PMCA Economic Consultants, The Mill supported 318 FTE jobs in 2023 and contributed a Gross Value Add (GVA) of €45.2M.In May 2024, The Mill celebrated its 10th birthday, reporting that Mill-based companies contributed over €228M in GVA during their occupancy and generated €34.6M in Irish taxes from 2014 to 2023.Our Partnerships & Community Role:The Mill was appointed as the Northeast Regional partner for Skillnet’s Innovation Exchange in 2023 and was shortlisted for the Enterprise Hub of the Year award at the National Lama Awards. We work closely with partners like Drogheda and District Chamber, Louth County Council, Connected Hubs, and M1 Skillnet to promote regional enterprise.The Position & Term:We seek expressions of interest from enthusiastic individuals to join our Board as Chairperson or Co-Chairperson. This voluntary role operates on a two-year cycle. Details of our current board are available at our website. The board includes four sub-committees: Financial/Risk & Audit, Tenancy, Marketing, and Program.This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the implementation of our 3-Year Strategy (2024–2027) and shape entrepreneurship in the Drogheda region.Role Responsibilities:Leadership: Provide effective leadership to the board, ensuring cohesive teamwork towards the Mill’s mission and objectives.Governance: Maintain and strengthen governance, ensuring legal compliance, transparency, and accountability.Strategic Planning: Collaborate on developing and refining the strategic vision, aligning it with organizational goals.Risk Management: Identify risks and opportunities; develop strategies to mitigate risks.Financial Oversight: Oversee financial activities, budgets, and reporting to ensure sustainability.Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the Mill, fostering relationships with government, partners, and the community.The Chairperson(s) will support and challenge the CEO, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve strategic objectives.Qualifications and Experience:Passion for entrepreneurship, economic development, and community engagement.Energetic, enthusiastic, and driven to impact Drogheda positively.Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.Experience on a board or in governance is desirable.Knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems is a plus.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team.Familiarity with Drogheda’s business community is advantageous.To express interest, please contact The Mill at ronan@themilldrogheda.ie with an updated CV and LinkedIn profile.
