Job Title:Staff Grade Physiotherapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation UnitLocation:Waterford City, IrelandJob Type:Full-time, Monday–Friday, 1-year contractSalary:HSE Pay Scale (commensurate with experience)Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading rehabilitation service inWaterford Cityto recruit aStaff Grade Physiotherapistfor their Inpatient Rehab Unit.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled and supportive MDT focused on enabling patients to regain independence and quality of life.Job Purpose:To provide high quality, patient-centred physiotherapy interventions within an inpatient rehabilitation service, supporting patients in their functional recovery, promoting mobility, and contributing to safe discharge planning. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programs and optimise patient outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Provide evidence based Physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to adult and older adult patientsConduct comprehensive mobility and functional assessments and set individualised rehab goalsDesign and implement exercise programs to enhance strength, balance, and functional independenceWork closely with the MDT, including nursing, occupational therapy, medical, and social work teams, to support safe and effective discharge planningParticipate in daily MDT meetings and case discussionsMonitor patient progress, adapt treatment plans as needed, and document interventions accuratelyEducate patients and families on mobility techniques, falls prevention, and self -management strategiesContribute to service improvement initiatives and uphold best-practice standardsEssential Requirements:BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy ( CORU registration essential )Minimum 6 months of post-qualification experienceExperience in an inpatient rehabilitation, gerontology, ortho, neuro experience preferredExcellent clinical reasoning and problem-solving skillsStrong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilitiesProven ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environmentPrevious work in stroke, orthopaedic, or geriatric rehab unitsFamiliarity with discharge planning and community liaisonExperience using mobility aids, gait re-education, and functional rehab programsInvolvement in falls prevention initiatives or mobility training workshopsAvailability to start at the end of November 2025 (essential)This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your Physiotherapy career in a supportive, patient-focused rehabilitation environment.What you need to do now:For more information about this opportunity, please reach out confidentially to Charlene Cooke by email or telephone
