We have been engaged by a leading Dublin law firm for an individual to lead both their tax compliance group and to work on advisory work as this originates from that client portfolio.The position has occurred because the group have experienced strong growth in the last several years and the group leader would have client relationship responsibility for team members who are leading out on VAT, Payroll and Income Tax.The firm sees this as a gateway role to partner within a two to four year period (dependent on candidate experience previously) and it would provide the candidate with the opportunity to work with a large portfolio of indigenous owner managed and internationally owned businesses, from a range of industries (Real Estate, Corporate M&A, Family office and HNW planning, technology, R&D, manufacturing, distribution), many of which have an international focus.This may suit a candidate with a top firm background seeking to broaden their own levels of technical knowledge and transactional experience across a large number of different industries, whilst still maintaining a high quality of work.What will the role involve?Acting as leader or key member of an integrated client service team across all tax heads working with on a wide range of assignments including tax advisory projects.Assisting the management team in maintaining and developing the firm's relationship with a portfolio of clients including working with team members in other departments in the supply of a tax and legal solution to the client.Taking the lead on transactional project work which under the mentorship of partners who have high levels of experience in their own practice fields;Contributing towards collective (departmental) targets for billing, net fee income and cash collection as well as personal and firm-wide goals.Involvement in business development and marketing initiatives at firm, department and team levels.Responsibility for staff development and reviewing procedures.Job requirementsCTA qualified lawyer or accountant with a minimum of 2- 4 years working in practice at manager level (depending on the candidate and existing levels of work experience).Experience of working in corporation tax compliance including on larger corporates and on tax consultancy assignments.Good knowledge and hands on experience in interpreting Irish Tax Legislation, relevant commentary and case law.Experience of operational supervision of assignments and managing of client relationships.
