Located near University Hospital Waterford we are seeking a skilled Staff Nurse to join our Occupational Health department in the role of Specified purpose post to cover maternity leave.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Be registered in the general division of the live Register of Nurses maintained by Nursing & Midwifery Board Ireland.
* Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, (including a high standard of clinical and administrative capacity), for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
* Have certification of an approved Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers Course within the last two years Irish Heart Foundation (IHF)).
* Have evidence of Initial National Anaphylaxis Education Programme for Health Care Professionals accessible online followed by a two hour classroom based skills workshop. Recertification is required every two years by completing the on-line National Anaphylaxis Education Programme for Health Care Professionals accessible online.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team in a busy Occupational Health department.
* Good IT skills/Administrative knowledge.
* Phlebotomy and Vaccination administration competency essential for this role.
* Basic knowledge of health screening, surveillance, and Pre Employment medicals desirable.
* Manage Occupational Health records in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
* Practice in line with the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Nurses 2025, NMBI.

* The Staff Nurse will report administratively and professionally to the Senior Nurse in the service and professionally to the Director of Nursing Occupational Health.
* Clinical reporting will be to the Occupational Health Physician.
